Cyanlabs Sync 3.4 updates

Has anyone used the Cyanlabs update for their Sync 3 onwards? I've done an update from Sync 3 to 3.4 using the Ford download which gives me a nice new screen layout but it didn't update the maps from F8 to F9. If I check for an update using my VIN on the Ford website I can't re-download the previous update as it says my car is up to date. Cyan labs looks good but don't want to risk it but I can't see any other way to update the map & Ford garage haven't got a clue.

    I used cyanlabs to update my 2018 sync 3.0 to 3.3 with f9 maps and then to 3.4. Ford weren't offering any updates to mine from 3.0 so I bit the bullet and went for it. It creates a USB stick the same as Ford do using official Ford files. The only thing to watch out for is on 2020 models if upgrading from 3.2 or below that requires a reformat it has had some units bricking with a black screen. It does warn 2020 owners if the update you choose has a risk involved.

    If you are worried though the Ford website should eventually offer you the f9 maps.

    You could be waiting forever on F9 from the ford website. There’s extensive threads on here about this. 
     

    Use the download you’ll find on this forum or if you have wifi where you park , I got maps over the air in about a week.

    My other half has a 2018 Fiesta which is currently on Sync 3 but has F9 maps. I don't get why my sync 3.4 only has F8 maps. Crazy!
