Adaptive Sound aka Speed Controlled Volume (SCV)

Featured Replies

Has anyone else noticed that on Sync 3.4 the adaptive sound doesn’t work? Or is it just me, l’ve got the settings on ‘High’ and ‘Surround Sound’!

is there a menu option to use or not ?

SDVC speed dependant volume control is great when it works.

My car (not a Ford ) got an update and they broke Source muting for Nav instruction overlay.  But the manufacturer is too incompetent to know they broke it.  And SDVC seems less well resolved now.  So it wouldn't surprise me Ford forgot to make it work on any major update.  The world of software has been taken over by 3 year old children still working on potty training, so don't hold your hopes too high !!!

Mines a 69 plate, I’ve never noticed it working, on sync3.3 or after getting 3.4

I’ve not checked the settings since the update though.

Yes there is a menu in the ‘Sounds’! Scroll down to Adaptive Sounds and it gives you four options Off, Low, Medium & High.

on a Merc rather than grown up user settings you can see and confirm are where u want them...

those clever people just invented "remember the last user setting" (with now way to see what they are !!!)

so when the woman tells you where to go, and the wife turn the vols down (unknown to you as she did it when busy fighting to save a crash from some road rage maniac or other distracting thing) next time the Sat Nav just doesn't make any sound anymore.... and there's NO WAY to turn it up unless you telepathically guess when she's next speaking and wind up the volume at the exact same time....  Or for some one off reason you want the traffic info quiet on one report.... Now you ruined the set up and have to waste life trying to fix it next drive....  when a real car just remembers the grown up settings next time you start it up.
