I recently purchased a Fiesta Trend MHEV and while I'm very happy with it I've always thought Ford Sync is not working properly. The problem is that when you press the voice button it always uses the Phone Voice and not the car one like on all previous versions of Sync that I've had on previous Fords. I've been in dialogue with Ford customer service for over 6 weeks now and they've eventually come back with the answer that my car has a CTR with Ford Sync 2.5 and this only supports phone voice.

Does anybody know if this is correct as it seems a backward step from Sync 2 or Sync 3 and if so can you upgrade the software to Sync 3?

If you can, take a photo of your head-unit and we should be able to tell.

Yes, you have, like me, the cheap as chips and totally rubbish sync 2.5. Only 4 option buttons at the bottom of the screen. One of the reasons i went new was for sync 3. My wifes kuga sync 3 is great. I'm totally *****. The salesman didn't say a word about it. I would have bought a different car if I'd known. Cost saving at it's worst.
