Mondeo Mk4 heater blower gives sudden burst with ignition off

Featured Replies

I’ve just had my heater blower system repaired on my Mondeo Mk4 ‘11 reg. It had stopped working a few weeks ago. The mechanic has replaced the ‘control module’, however what else he’s changed or replaced is unknown to me.

The blower has been working fine after the repair

However, now the heater blower gives a burst of air when the ignition is switched off. It then gives another short burst, but stops repeating when the central locking is engaged.

btw, this is the same issue reported here:

any ideas on what to try or investigate? Thanks

The mechanic had wired their blower motor to a hard positive rather than the ignition wire. That’s why it was giving bursts even when ignition was off.
