hi i have just purchased a mark 3 mondao estate problem if i pull up on my wiper stalk it washes and wipes  if i press the end of stalk nothing and nothing to rear wiper is there two pumps in the washer bottle like my jaguar or is it a switch problemany advice please

    When you push the end of the stalk can you hear the pump trying to work? I had this problem with my old car and it turned out to be just a blocked nozzle. Took it off and soaked it in hot water and it was good as new.

    i dont think its the pump as such as it works when i pull the stalk up windscreen only but not when i press the end and nothing to the tail gateas i have only had the car twodays not got a manual yet

    The rear jet does get blocked. I had to drill mine out with a 1mm bit, it now works, but no spray  pattern, just a gush of water.

    Two separate pumps so the windscreen pump has nothing to do with the rear window.

    Thank very much for all the info I think it may be a switch problem as I have just had a go and if I keep pressing the end of the stalk it sometimes works can the switch be taken apart and contacts cleaned or is it easier to obtain new switch
