S Max 2008 2.3 Petrol Difficult to Start After Refuelling.

Featured Replies

Good morning all, we have just recently picked up a cheap 2008 Ford S Max 2.3 Petrol Auto, but we have a slight concern over a rather strange issue and would like try and find out what is causing it.

The car runs fine and doesn't miss a beat, that is until we refuel it. We are no half measures so the car get a full tank every time we refuel. It will start immediately but then cut out, it then takes a lot of cranking to get it to restart again, then it is totally fine, we switch it off and it will restart straight away. Has anyone come across this before? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated,  many thanks, Jax

Not seen this on a Ford but quite common on some cars and usually it's the evap/purge valve sticking open.
