High pressure fuel pump and pipe mk3 1.0 ecoboost.

Featured Replies

Esteemed members I need to do the valve cover gasket and Mr Haynes says I need to replace the o ring on the HP fuel pump.Anyone know where I can get a new one ? Online sites only seem to do a diesel version ?...Mr Haynes also says I need to replace the fuel pipe from the pump to the rail if it is disturbed...surely this can't be right?its a sturdy beast.

I suggest to buy the parts at a local Ford dealer or an online source that sells genuine Ford parts.

The stainless steel high pressure fuel pipe does not have any seals. The sealing of the pipe is based on the inverted flare principle. During assembly the inverted flared ends of the pipe deform slightly and the torque of the flare nuts create enough force to form a perfect seal between both metal surfaces without the need of an additional sealing ring. After being disassembled and assembled again there is a huge risk of fuel leaks because the inverted flare connections of the pipe are no longer sealing properly. This is the reason why Ford prescribes to replace the high pressure fuel pipe once it is disassembled.

I take it that's why people disconnect it further back down the fuel line so as not to disturb the joint which requires a special tool anyway.

Hi, has a major fuel leak on way home today, lost power, felt like misfire, pulled over and petrol spraying out from the pipe from high pressure fuel pump to injector rail, any idea where i can source a new one, searched for hours and cannot find anything, the pipe  has part number CM5G9J323GC and can see a hairline crack by the joint. Also how does the low pressure fuel pipe disconnnect from the high pressure pump? (Want to check it over)

hoping someone can help please

Thanks
