Bird poo

Featured Replies

I’d like to ask what is best to remove real ground in bird poo? I have bought a secondhand Ford Fiesta 2001 and tried most things to remove it but I can’t. I’ve tried hot soapy water, wd40, cif etc and nothing will remove it. Any ideas guys please?

There's dedicated bird crap removers you can get.

If it's ground in then the paint will most likely be stained by now. If you're lucky it should polish out.

Autoglym tissues are good but sounds like it may have been left too long.

Baby wipes

I generally use hot water and spray it on there to break it down without contact. If it's been on there too long it might if etched into the paint and might need a machine polish

Thanks for the advice guys will try some of those

Cheap glass cleaner is good for dissolving bird poo. Rinse of with water after a couple of mins. Warm water, as said above is also a good idea.

Glass cleaner will also strip off any protection that was on the paint, so make sure to reapply any wax afterwards.

Polish ( Not the Nationality) works best. Preferably the spray kind. Spray on a leave for 10/15 mins. Wipe off and reapply the give the area a good buffing once it cleaned off.

I did already mention the Autoglym tissues. All you do is put one on the offending blemish leave a few minutes and remove and the poo is gone. No polish removed no uncertain chemicals used that can react with the lime in the poo and definitely no polishing required .

I’ve use diamond brite lime remover works a treat .

Stubborn bird poo can be removed by leaving a small wet towel on it, allow it time to soak, overnight works, then just wipe off the next day.

Pretty much the way  Autoglym wipes work except they do it in about 2 or 3 minutes
