Climate Control Backlight

posted this on the electrical forum in february and had no reply so thought it might get noticed better here.

tried seaching but the forums google search is crap and ordinary google just brings up loads of people selling the climate control complete unit.

the problem is with the backlight for the knobs (temprature, blower selection, strength) the backlighting works for the recirculated air, heated windows, a/c.

the back lights on the knobs will come on randomly like once every few weeks and when it does come on and i go to adjust either setting for heat, strength or blower selection the backlihts will turn off again.

any suggestions as to what it might be ?

    ounds like a loose wire at the back of the knob try giving it a tap or a wiggle to see if it illuminates

    already had the entire unit out to check for loose wires but nothing, as far as the naked eye can see every things ok
