Alexis94040
Good evening my friends! I went yesterday at Ford's service and bought 1 litre of Castrol Magnatec 0W-20 engine's oil. The reason is that i have lately seen a loss of engine's oil with the help of the dipstick. (1.500cc diesel engine - ZTDA type) The total amount of oil that had to be added to max was 400 ml. I have only 2.700 kilometers on the odometer. (new car). Is it a reasonable oil consumption? Do i have to complain to the Ford Company? Do i have to concern about it and fix it immediately? Thank a lot all of you in advance!
iantt
Depends if the dipstick showed full when new. If you checked when new and was full. That's too high oil consumption. Max usage should be no more than 0.1 litre per 1000km.

But i picked up the service manual before 5 minutes and read that oil consumption is acceptable for the first 5000-10000 kilometers due to breaking in of the engine. I didn't noticed that at the service manual, so now i hope seeing less oil consumption to the future. The truth is that it made me a little nervous because it is a new car... Thanks for your reply!
