Hello all.

I was wondering if anyone has fitted or used a detachable tow bar on a Focus?.

I've got a 2002 1.8 TDCi and a 14" dinghy and I'd like them to play with each other.

I've looked at the permanent kits and they are the default choice for ease as well as cost.

As long as we'v had cars, though, I've hated the bruises on my shins from inadvetantly hitting them on the tow bars of the cars we've had.

The Witter detachable towbar system looks handy, and I'm sure that it's safe enough, but I wondered if anyone had any experience of them in this country.

I can't seem to see any kits for cars older than 2005, but I'll call the company tomorrow and have a word.

Any help appreciated.

we use detachable tow balls at work and have no problem pulling over a ton with them, you can get them for the focus here are just two of the many companies doing them.

I like the look of that Bosal system, I hadn't seen it even though I had been to Towequip before!
