MK4 2.0 tdci Mondeo engine judder at 1900-2500rpm

Featured Replies

Hi all. Bought a 2010 2.0tdci Mondeo (140) six weeks ago. I've already had the dpf cleaned, given the car a full service and recently had a seal on an injector replaced. Straight after having the seal replaced I went and put £25 of diesel in my car as i had a trip to make the next day. Next day I set of on my trip I noticed the car was juddering between 1900-2500rpm. It wasnt noticable in 1st and 2nd. In 3rd you could feel it slightly but it got worse in 4th, 5th and 6th. When i got home I put some Reddex in my tank which seemed to help a little but the problem persists. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Carl, is there any fault codes showing in DTC ?

My guess is an injector problem, did you take them all out when you changed the seal ?

No fault code showing. Took it back to the garage yesterday. the breather pipe on the injector that had the seal replaced had split. The garage has denied doing this whilst replacing the seal so looks like I'm set for another bill. (I do think it was the garages fault though as it was ok when i took it in to get the seal replaced)

Hi Carl, good to know you found the problem. I kind of thought it would be injector related, didn't guess that the garage would have damaged the breather pipe.

Had the breather pipe replaced but the car is still juddering between 2000-2500rpm. I've got an air leak on the throttle body housing and so I'm going to replace the full unit. Could this be the cause of the problem?

Hi Carlos07

Did the throttle body sort your issue? Having the exact same issue on my Kuga with the same engine.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Many thanks
