Fiesta Mk8 sport mode

Featured Replies

hi, i have a 2018 mk8 fiesta st-line 125ps and ive driven a couple other fords with a similar  spec and they all have sport modes. does mine have a sport mode somewhere i dont know about?

It's on current models and appeared sometime late 2019 I think (probably for 2020MY) - but not on a 2018.

do you mean sport mode for the engine or the S mode on the gearbox lever ? for the S mode on the gearbox lever mine has it , mine is 2019 ecoboost 100ps automatic

The ST has a sport mode, this opens the exhaust valves and quickens throttle response. as mentioned above newer (normal) Fiestas have it, not sure what it does, and possibly cars with auto gearboxes have.

The only modes your car will have is normal and Eco mode. Eco mode dulls the throttle, (slower acceleration), and possibly changes the air-con but I've not noticed. I find Eco mode useful and use it when the engine is cold, to prevent it working hard.  I've always been told you shouldn't drive hard with cold oil as it may damage the engine. I turn it off when the engine is warm.

You could always fit a pedal box from DTUK . It’s similar to a sports switch but has more adjustments. I’ve had many cars over the years  and used the pedal box which brings car to life . Much more throttle responsiveness. I’ve had them on corsa 1.4 - fiesta 2016 ST. And lots in between including ecoboost fiestas .Really puts a smile on your face the first time you use it and you wonder why manufacturers didn’t bring them out like that as standard.

MHEV StLx has sport mode also.

I own a 2018 Ford Fiesta ST.
If I tap the traction control button once, the info screen displays "sport mode" momentarily.
The traction warning light turns on below the dash display.
The html owner's manual on the Ford site states that traction control is partial disabled.
I don't know if any other things like throttle response or sound, et al. But I am curious as well.
But mine has a cat back and a hybrid waste gate/blow off, so there are already a lot of sounds coming from this car.
