Ford focus 2021 1.0 ecoboost short distances problems with particle filter?

Featured Replies

good afternoon, i'm thinking of buying a ford focus ecoboost 1.0 125hp, my use goes around the great majority of short trips (5k x2 per day).
I've been researching and these new gasoline cars already have particle filters. Should I be worried like in diesel or do they not give problems?

Evening , I have attached the thread on the forum about GPF problem, which started away back in 2018. My Focus is the 1.0 Ecoboost and in January 2019 after 1500miles  the message appeared. Dealer thought they had initially fixed problem but in February 2020 message reappeared. A static regen and a pcm update was done. Thankfully message has not reappeared since which is good as mileage has been low this past year due to lockdowns.

Sorry not available in the UK. Only diesel or petroleum spirit (petrol for short) models available. 🤣

thanks for the help, everything points out that the update solved the problems.
Do you recommend buying with my type of use?

I do a low annual mileage, using my car about twice a week on journeys usually around 20 - 30 miles. It has been on longer journeys pre lockdown and was a pleasure to drive.. I am a bit biased towards Focus, as am currently on my 5th since it was launched in 2000. Happy driving whatever you chose.

My normal weekly mileage is 25 - 30 miles and haven't had any issues regarding regen since we purchased it.

It had done 4k when we bought it 18 months ago and it currently shows 12k.

Did anyone find the fix to this problem? I am having the issue currently and need it sorting so I can get rid of the car.

Are you referring to the GPF warning ?

If yes, then there is a dealer software update available (at a cost) to fix the issue.
