Hi everyone, 

Hoping someone can advise me with the following issue. 

 

My S-max is the 2.0 Duratorq, which when driven hard, feels as if it has drops, then surges in power, as your accelerate, 

Upon changing the fuel filter, and its housing, I noticed air in the fuel pipes, I also noticed metal filings in the bottom of the filter housing. 

Car starts ok, however fuel rail pressure drops from 38000kpa, to 28000kpa, once it's hot. 

The question is.....do I bite the bullet, and replace the High pressure fuel pump, before total failure? Or am I barking up the wrong tree.
