Am I a bad person for laughing at a posh BMW family??

Featured Replies

Earlier today I was waiting for my better half who was inside a shop getting a retail therapy fix. I saw a lovely brand new BMW 640d pull up outside, where mummy & daddy got out, leaving stroppy teenager (they're all stroppy!) in the back seat. As parents left, I noticed the indicators flashing twice.

Mummy returned 5 minutes later, and couldn't gain access to the car, a screaming match incurred as she directed stroppy teenager to open the car but they couldn't open it as it was obviously deadlocked. Mummy angrily phoned daddy, and it took him 15 minutes to return, where another family argument ensued - hilarious!

Remember the olden days when it was the drivers responsibility to lock their car, and not some jumped up computer that thinks they know best 🤣

(Obviously there will be a setting hidden the bowels of the menu system to change this locking behaviour, but I guess someone with £70,000 to squander on a prestige toy just doesn't have the time to read it!)

Lol I wish I was there. Some people are just lucky they have a good occupation with money coming in or just become complacent with their respect. Some of the clients in my broker who are high net worth sadly have that thing where they try to come across as superior. Arrogance wont help you later in life.

Didn't know also they still were making the 6 series 😂.

I prefer the gran coupe 😂. Surprised that you can get them from around £15k

Right now there must be a job lot of 320 and 330MSports as all the leasing companies have them on special offer.  The 320 is the same a month as I'm paying now so I've rung Ford to see if they'll buy me out of my PCP now.

Makes sense why I see a lot of new 3 series about and a few driven by impatient fools 🙄

I want to ask Heaton what's the pros and cons for PCP and HP? Thinking in the future of financing a car as it'll save me time saving up compared to saving up longer to buy it outright when I could save up for other stuff.

Hp isn't worth it, if you have decent credit you can get a loan at better interest.

For PCP, the basic idea is you pay your monthly based on miles per year and at the end of the deal you can either trade in for new, using any equity you might have, walk away, or pay the final balloon payment and keep the car.

What usually happens is about 2/3 of the time into the PCP the dealer will call to try and get you into a new car and a new deal.  If you time it right you can do it before the service and skip having to pay for that.

We've done this with the missus car but the dealer rang me the other day to try and do it for me but Ford don't make the 182 auto anymore.

Elder brother took on a new BMW 320 (something) March last year.....  So mostly locked up in lockdown - Done 740 miles in 15 months !!!!

That was a true YouTube moment and i would have needed the man's room through laughing.

It's all computer stuff these days that think they can take us humans on, but they seem to always win.
