Has anyone fitted the retractable towbar (part 2245918) to 2020 Mondeo hatchback Vignale?

I want to know if the towbar will require visible bumper cuts and if it's electrically retractable.  Should be simple enough shouldn't it?

Two ford parts departments don't want to help, a third won't help unless I buy the £976 towbar from them first!

Even Ford on Twitter won't help.  They simply say "computer says no".  So why is it offered as a build option on the model?!

I really wish I had just ticked the box on the build spec online when I ordered the car.

    No its a mechanical system. I think that a factory fitted electrically option is available in some countries.

    Probably because Ford are out of stock and don't know when they will be able to supply

    Thanks for the replies.  Even the Ford parts team via Twitter disagree with another Ford parts team; one says yes it's electric, the other says no.  But helpfully, one sent me the fitting instructions which give a good idea of the bumper cut required.

    So if anyone would like the fitting instructions, let me know.

    Very disappointed with Ford aftercare though.
