New owner returning to Ford fold after 30 years.

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all. Just bought a 2009 1.25 Zetec for my son's first car, and swapped my Subaru Impreza STI for a 2013 Fiesta ST for myself. Taking a little getting used to having had the Scooby for 10 years + but what a lovely little car they both are. Did I mention how cheap parts prices are!

Thanks fo the standard of forum posts here, I'm learning lots daily. Thanks again.

Welcome to the Ford Owners Club.

Should we say the prodigal son has returned after 30 years in the wilderness ?

Enjoy your Ford's. Buy a good quality ELM327 modified lead (for example: Tunnelrat) and download for free ForScan. There is many upgrades and changes you can make, such as Auto door locking for when you drive off.

As an ex Celica GT4 owner, yes, My Ford Focus is a nice car, but I don't half miss the ability to accelerate up a hill LOL - welcome...

Hi welcome

Thanks guys. The Zetec is ok when you ref the gonads off it, but the ST is a blast. It's no Subaru, but the last time I filled up on normal unleaded it cost £32 to fill it and there was a bloke with an STI like my old one next to me pumping Super in at £80 for a tankful and it made me smile and happy with my choice!

I'll look into ForScan and I do have a good Device for connecting already. It's a Wifi enabled EOBD plug in box. Used it to clear faults on my Renault more times than I can admit to. So glad I sold our Espace and will never own another French car ever.

Hi Mark, the free version of ForScan does not work with Bluetooth, you need the paid version for that. Also the bluetooth version only allows you to read codes and not programme data. Forscan don't think it is safe to programme with bluetooth devices encase communication is lost at a criitical moment.

You can get a lead from the likes of eBay or Amazon or direct from a company called Tunnelrat.

This is an example of what you need: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304009451089?hash=item46c8601651:g:azUAAOSwfNdgrNkC
