Engine malfunction light

Featured Replies

Hi, my engine malfunction light has come on today while I was going up a hill and changing gears. The car didn't appear to struggle and drove okay until I was able to stop. I turned the car off and left it for a while and when I turned it back on again the light had gone, any ideas what could be causing this please?

I know, that's why I posted on here to see if anyone had any idea of what it could be!

You need to buy an ELM327 modified lead for your laptop something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203253858823?hash=item2f52dfc207:g:QioAAOSwd5VgCAou  then download ForScan (its free).

Then its time to connect to the OBDII port on the car and read the error codes. With out the codes it is impossible to guess whats wrong, it would be easier to pick the winning lottery numbers.
