Ford Mondeo 2017 1.5 TDCI Strange Noise From Rear Left

Featured Replies

Hi,

I drove approx 45 miles today, no issues, had the air con on and got to work.

Once I set off back from work there was what I can only describe as the sound of an airbag on a HGV coming from the rear left of my car. It happened for about 30 seconds, I pulled the car over the auto stop start kicked in and by the time I got to the rear left of the car the sound was still audible but was quieting down.

It then stopped and so I restarted the engine and the noise is no longer happening. Any ideas? It sounded like it could be coming from the exhaust, but the exit for the exhaust is on the right of the car. I actually though I’d possibly burst a tyre because it sounded like air escaping, but the car is running fine and during the 30 seconds this sound was going on for there was no noticeable change to the car.

Thanks 🙂

A number of users have had similar issues to yourself with strange sounds come from the rear of the car around the wheel and found it to be a loose shock abs bolt.  However if you ask the question on the facebook group. I am sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction or give advice on what the problem can be

Hope that is of some help
