Alarm going off

Featured Replies

Hi just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem.

I have a ford s max 63 plate 2.0tdci Titanium X sport and the alarm keeps going off once locked for no reason. First started on a hot day and been dry for sometime prior to this. So cannot see it's water related.

Had AA out today and they diagnosed  b1d1787 communication with anti theft Alarm horn faulty.

They cannot touch it, phoned a local big independent which said the same so main dealer it is unfortunately.

Any help tips or advice much appreciated

Take it to the main dealer, there is little more that can be said, other than expect a big bill.

Common problem many years ago was water ingress into the alarm sounder connector. Could still be this but water may have corroded the wiring giving a poor connection, rain or sun, hot or cold day. Just unplug it and check the pins and connector. If there ok I would buy a second hand sounder and try that. Easy enough to locate.. n/s/f wheel off, arch liner off. Then look high up inside on the right .

Hi all fords won't evan look at it for nearly three weeks total joke. Especially having two cars from the dealer and service plans. Great customer service from Invicta motors Ashford!!!

Had it die on me, driving from home. AA ford assist was going to recover and I chatted with the guy and said about my suspicions of the battery which the last Aa guy dismissed and didn't evan test or check!

He used a power pack and the car started.

He said to try the battery and suggested an independent lock alarm specialist.

I took it to a local independent garage who run diagnostics and there was more than just the alarm code, all the faults were lack of communications and he said the battery is at fault.

Battery changed, codes cleared and happy days, two days and nights and no alarms 😀

Was a bit reluctant the first night to lock and alarm it. Bit the bullet and had key with me at bedtime.

Hope this may help others out.
