Error codes Forscan B2AD7 Trunk lock switch stuck

Featured Replies

Hi

I used Forscan to read the error codes on my new purchase (focus 1.6 titanium from 2010) and it came up with some door lock codes but some seem old so will clear it and see if they come back but 1 was current

B2AD7, Trunk lock switch stuck

Status:

  • Malfunction indicator lamp is off for this DTC
  • DTC present at the time of request

Module: Remote Keyless Entry

I think all is working fine, I can lock the trunk with the fob key (and then pressing the button on the door) I still have not gotten used to this keyless entry malarky but doors are locked and cannot be opened without having the key with me so not sure if it is a real error or...?

Thanks

Tom

If you've got keyless entry does it work locking the car with a press or double press of the small black button on the tailgate finisher? or is that what you meant above by the button on the door?

The button/switch has failed on mine, open circuit I assume as I don't recall seeing that fault code but maybe if it's gone short circuit it gives the error you're seeing?

exactly button on the door = small black button on tailgate finisher but also on driver/passenger side door)

If I press the lock on the keyfob I can hear the doors close but i can open the doors straight away by pulling the door handle (trunk opener) as the keyless entry kicks in

Only by pressing lock and then the button on the door handle (or tailgate) does it actually lock, I have not tried locking it once with Keyfob and walking away to see once the keyfob is at a safe distance if it actually locks or not.

I went through similar learning process with my introduction to keyless locking. With the doors you can double lock just using the button on the handle then if you pull the handle within 3s I think, it remains locked to allow you to check. Waiting longer and it’ll open up as normal for keyless opening.
