MK4 Active Est. - Limp mode?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My works vehicle is a MK4 2.0l EcoBlue Active estate manual. A nice car but with one very annoying and frustrating habit:

At seemingly random times the dash will flash a message showing a spanner and 'see user manual', the car then lacks any power, almost as if the turbo has stopped, almost what a 'limp' mode might be.

This continues until the car is switched off and switched on again.

The car does anything from 40 to 150 miles daily and happens on almost every journey and at very random times and at various speeds.

My own personal vehicle is a MK4 1.5l petrol auto and I have never had the problem (and don't want it either)

Over to you. Any ideas? Anyone else had this?

maybe your car need to clear the DPF

I forgot to say, the car has done 8k miles and has been having issues for around the last 5-6k miles.

Is the ADblue topped up or low?

The warning system could be faulty, top up the ADblue first and see if the issue goes away. If that does solve it, the ADblue warning will need investigating.

Failing that, I have read that 2.0 EcoBlue suffers from injector faults, sounds like it needs to go in
