Went to test drive a Corolla today.

Although it was a smooth hybrid drive the inside is very old fashioned.  Headroom very limited in the rear, massive weird bulky fascia for the front passenger that you kept banging your knee on.

So I have ended up putting a deposit down on a new Obsidian Blue RAV4.  It was smooth, quick, much more modern inside, didn't roll on the corners.

I'll miss the Focus, it's a great car but Ford dont make anything like it.  I'll post some details on what it's had done as it would be a good buy for someone.

 

Quite a difference to a Focus (says he who once went from an Audi A3 to a LR Freelander!😀). Be interesting to see how you get on - Autocar  have been running the Suzuki badged version (the Across) as a long termer and seem pretty impressed.

Honestly I never thought I'd be in an SuV, always hated the things but apparently the new RAV4 has a much lower centre of gravity.  Certainly it didn't roll and it went round corners as fast as I will ever want to.

And unlike ford who gave us a 5 minute test drive where they came too, we were able to go off alone in both the Corolla and the RAV4 for a good 20 odd minutes each so got to properly drive them.
