MK4 1.0 125 MPG figures

Featured Replies

Hi all

What is the MPG figures everyone is receiving on their 1.0 125 petrol Focus?

Usually i was lucky to hit 36 to 39 with only local driving but After recently having my PCM updated through warranty ive been getting anywhere between 42 and 45 driving the same routes

Surely a pcm update couldnt have this much of of an mpg boost?

Hi, Your 40’s figures are about right, with up to 50 on a long motorway run.  It’s worse around town, when you’re on and off the gas. Any harsh acceleration hits consumption hard!

Yeah ive averaged 53 on a motorway run recently it was just the sudden jump in town and city driving that had me wondering

Dont get me wrong the car doesnt feel sluggish but ive noticed that when the car is cold there is a high pitched sound on deceleration(, it sounds almost like a bicycle when you dont peddle) apparantly this is a common sound from the turbo wastegate

Thought id see if the 40s figures are right before looking into the turbo so thanks!

I have a 1.5 150ps ecoboost and averaging about 44mpg, I do a lot of coasting as there is very little back pressure to add to braking, mainly to and from work, fuel consumption a little worse in the winter though.

I’ve a 1.5L 182. 34mpg !!

it’s not bad on the motorway but urban it’s thirsty.
