I have a 2007 Ford Focus facelift looking at it I think it’s a mk2.5, now the car was registered in 2009 so I assumed it was a 2009 car therefor I was informed it had a wet belt and that would need converting rather soon however after finding out it’s a 2007 I’m trying to find out weather it is pre wet belt so if it’s a chain or not ? Any help would be much appreciated

You haven't actually said what engine you have, but I'm guessing from wet belt you mean the 1.8 TDCI.

The transition to chain to wet belt happened in 2007, so you'll have to physically check your engine. I think the easiest way to check was by inspecting the tensioner. Chain tensioner is black (although make sure it's not covered in so much crap that makes it look black), wet belt is shiny.

If it's never been changed since factory, it's seriously overdue and desperately needs doing.
