Does anyone know what this part is?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a Focus Titanium TD 2.0 2008, I'm looking for a fitting or connector, that keeps this small rubber hose attached to the part below (keeps coming off).

I'm not sure how to explain it to the Ford parts garage, I've sent these images but they're not sure either! All I know is when it comes off I lose a lot of power so presumably to do with the turbo?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Would a jubilee clip (hose clip) not do it?

That would probably be my first option, but if there is not enough space then a good strong cable tie (Ty-Rap) would hold it on.

I think that's the intercooler bypass valve but not 100% sure.

You can spray a little hairspray inside the end of the pipe before fitting it to make it hold better.

May be able to fit a small butterfly clip like the DPF pipes have if you can't fit a jubilee or cable tie in there.

Not heard the hairspray tip before, I'll save that one for the future.

It's generally used to stop aftermarket boost pipes popping off, especially if the ends aren't beaded.

Works great for split ends too😁

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I have tried a jubilee clip but it's quite awkward getting it on and tightening it sufficiently.

I haven't thought about using hairspray but I'll give that a go if the cable ties don't work, thanks!
