Hopefully you guys can me. I am looking at. 2009-2011 model.

Is the 1.6 underpowered?

Does the 6000cd work with Bluetooth music?

If the car is regularly serviced, does it matter if it has over 100k on clock?

Anything faults that I should look out for and stay clear of?

I have seen a 2011 1.6 Titanium, FSH, but 103,000 for £2695. Is that overpriced for a car in Kent? It only comes with one key.

Petrol? Diesel? Magic fairy dust?

No, phone calls only.

Not necessarily, but you'll have to do your own inspections for rust, rough running, look at the MOT history etc.

As cars get older some things can wear out like bushes, boots, suspension bits.  The rubber stuff.  I'd be interested to see if there are any bills for replacing these.  Engines can go a long time now if serviced but other stuff does wear out.

The 1.6 petrol is not major underpowered the focus is heavy so takes high revs to get up to speed which these engines can handle. They are not performance vehicles but are very reliable my last one only let me down by needing a new battery and I found it was the original. As above the usual bushes can go but parts are easy to get. Pay attention to the rear arches at the front of the wheel inner arch and the rear where the bumper attaches for rust. Also these engines make a tapping noise when cold but it goes when they warm up so don't let that worry you and they are very addictive cars to drive.

As long as the 'one' key is the master one, (with the remote buttons on the fob), you'll be fine. I got mine a couple of years back and it had a blade key, and a fob key, I always intended to get a spare fob, but the cost is prohibitive, even Timpson quoting me over £200.

Mine is considerably older at 2005, but the 1.6 engine is fine if you're not a boy racer, unfortunately, I am one at heart and it frustrates me every time I accelerate up a hill, and it goes no faster LOL It's very reliable if well looked after, mine has 110,000 on the clock, and is pretty rust free. The handling is one of these cars strong suits, I can corner round a roundabout keeping up with far younger & sportier cars!

If you do get one, the support on this forum is second to none should you need any maintenance advice.

Thank for all the replies guys. Some very detailed replies!

I have seen some cars described as belt driven and chain driven. Which is the best?

Also does the Sony stereo work with Bluetooth music as the 600CD doesn’t? Can the 6000CD be hacked to work with music?

I have attached a photo of the key fob.  Been told I can another official Ford key cut and programmed for £160.

It doesn't matter really matter. They should've all had at least 1 timing belt/chain change in its life. You still haven't told us what engine you're looking at getting.

No you can't play Bluetooth music on any mk2 focus using a factory radio. The Bluetooth is a separate module and they never made any new modules compatible with the mk2. To give some context, the iPhone 3g wasn't even released when the mk2 facelift came out. There was really no demand for music streaming, everyone was grateful for an aux cord in those times.

That's a keyless fob, which will be slightly more expensive I'd imagine. An auto-locksmith should be able to provide and programme the fob and emergency blade for you.

Now, make sure the bloke that told you that is the one that will charge you £160, and NOT the seller of the car LOL

Thanks, I am looking at a petrol engine. So 1.6 or 1.8?

Bigger is always better.  And if it doesn't feel right walk away.

It's not too bad TBH and not bad on fuel, a bit revvy at motorway speeds

A titanium will have a Sony unit and if fitted with bluetooth (look for voice button on top of remote) will stream bluetooth audio

6000CD - NO

No, but you will need to get the cambelt done ASAP if not done already

BCM (fusebox under glovebox) can get water contamination, disconnect some plugs and look for green fir on terminals,

Cluster faults are common but not so much on your age yet, cheap and easy to fix

Cheap fuel can damage front HEGO sensor and they are expensive, avoid if EML is on

You could easily get lower mileage for that money

Good Luck
