Mk4 Gearboxes with FFBA/QYBA engines

Featured Replies

Hi guys. My 2007 Mk4 Edge (100hp, FFBA engine) gearbox has gone 'pop' and I need to replace it.

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the fittings of a QYBA engine and a FFBA one, is it possible to interchange the two?

Checking the part number on my G/B yeilds G69R-7002-BC. (Picture 1)

Plenty of second hand boxes out there with the same serial number, but are listed as from a QYBA engine... (picture 2 and 3 for examples). Mine is the 100hp model and if I am correct the QYBA is the 125 hp

Thanks guys in advance.

one thing I noted is the numbers on the stickers in the top right hand corners, mine has a number 1, whereas the others have a 2.

could this be to differentiate between the 100 and the 125 hp boxes, or am I thinking too deep about it?

I do not fancy paying £150+ for a box to find it doesn't fit
