ford focus zetec s 1.0 ecoboost Limp Mode, No CEL, No Misfire, very rough idle

Featured Replies

Ok so the last few days i realized my car started idling a bit rough so i cleaned the mass air sensor and that fixed the problem for a little while. Driving back from work i stopped at a light and the car switched off as usual (auto start/stop), time to go the battery dies and can wont bump start got someone to jump it. Now almost home the car goes into limp mode, pulled over restarted it and it drove like normal till i switch it off and tried to start it this morning.

The car idle very rough 1000-1400 rmp and when accelerating does not exceed 1600 rmp. i would consider it more of the car revs up to 1400 switches off and starts back up at 1000 as if the engine is choking. END OF STORY TIME. vehicle has done 71k miles 12 reg stage 1 remap months ago

i should add you can hear turbo flutter when laying off the throttle and high boost(21psi) at mid rev range(obd measures 23inHG)

Question time:

Would the rough idle be caused buy a faulty camshaft sensor or skipped a tooth the the exhaust cam?

is it possible that the throttle/pedal position sensor be faulty or out of calibration causing the rough idle and limp mode(with no CEL)?

Could a faulty turbo charger throw up false signals?

update ive just replaced the Turbo, map sensor and reset the previous codes in hope it will run fine. but now am getting different codes (view in photo).

Now the car runs perfectly for the first 3 minutes then jolts forward and goes into limp mode again.

ill try swapping exhaust and inlet sensors hopefully it sends a p0016 code and try changing the MAP sensor back
