Front and Rear heated screens

Featured Replies

Morning all, i have a question which has probably been asked many times, but as i can't find the answer on youtube i need to ask. just handed down to my daughter her first car, 1.0 ecoboost fiesta 2013 model. When i try the front and rear heater screens the lights on the buttons are not coming on, now i've heard the front maybe temp sensitive, i.e doesn't come on if it's to warm outside, but can't understand the rear one. Any advice would be grateful. TIA Pete

There are a few of things that affect the operation of the heated screens.

Not in any order:

The outside temprature (will not operate if its too warm).

The condition of the battery, the charge level must be better than 80%.

The front screen ( and maybe the rear screen on your car) will not turn on unless the engine is started.

Hi welcome

I have the same problem. I work for Lookers and they have checked all the fuses and the power to the switches. I am thinking it is because it is not cold enough but nobody can guarantee that

I have experiance with dealing with Lookers and none of it could be said to be positive. On the occasions I've needed to deal with there service department I have been left woundering at their lack of ability.

Ford heated screens on newer cars require the following before they will turn on:

The outside temprature (will not operate if its too warm).

The condition of the battery, the charge level must be better than 80%.

The front screen ( and maybe the rear screen on your car) will not turn on unless the engine is started.

In all fairness they are a VW garage where I work so no knowledge of Ford heated screens. But I will mention the battery. I was wondering if they will only work in cold weather as some newer models do but just wanted to make sure as the warranty would have run out by then
