Car was built in 2007 and registered 31/12/2007 so I assume it is wet belt

I told you how to find this out on your last post. 2007/2008 were the big overlapping years and could be either or. "To 'assume' makes an '*****' out of 'u' and 'me'".

I wouldn't bother doing a chain conversion unless it's just as cheap as a wet belt (doubt it!). Bear in mind it's only the lower belt you change as part of the conversion, the upper will still need doing again at a later date. They also both have the same interval for changing (even though many with a chain will neglect to do it, and just change the top belt which is much easier). Plus if you change for another wet belt, what's the chances the car will still be on the road in 10 years time when it's due again?

As long as you use the correct oil grade and do regular servicing, the wet belt shouldn't degrade prematurely.

There's easy way to check what's in the transmission from the crankshaft to the fuel pump. Easiest is to remove the tensioner (with socket no 22) and inspect the head. If head is flat, than wet belt is built in. Wet belt is replaced every 10yr/125 kmiles, but I would do this earlier. If tensioner head is domed than chain is inside. Inspection of the chain kit is at the sam interval.

There are reliable kits for either wet belt (Dayco - Ford is using this one with it's stamp) or chain kit (SKF).

Tensioner is located at rear LH corner, below the EGR. When reinstalling tight the tensioner to 63Nm. Or ask a reliable garage to do this for you.
