Gready on fuel

Featured Replies

I have a 2010 1.6 petrol focus has 73000 miles I think it’s gready on petrol as I filled tank up and only get 250 miles on a full tank any advice would be great thanks

Full service or check for yourself the condition of the plugs & air filter, a blocked/blackened air filter will increase fuel consumption.

Check tyres for wear and make sure they are the correct pressures.

Oh! and welcome to this great forum 🤗

Thanks done a full service thinking that was it but still the same think I’ll just burn it 😂😂😂

The 1.6L petrol was always a little thirsty in the mk2 focus. It's not super uncommon to have MPG figures in the 20's.

What sort of driving are you doing?

Heck that's terrible! Back in the 1980's I used to watch my fuel gauge go down on  pretty quickly on my MKII RS2000, but fuel was pretty cheap back then.

Mostly motorway and sit at 65mph so the rpm is just under 3000
