Hope someone can help with my urgent problem. Does anyone have any idea how to get my car started with no key!! Long story short, turned up at Holiday let, got all the Luggage out then the Wife(bless her) informs me that she,s lost the Keys !!! so the car,s open and just needs starting either with a key or not as we have a spare key at home(200 miles away) insurance company messing us about so short of getting hold of an ex car thief does anyone have any ideas.Thanks.

Not possible to hot wire cars built after about '95 so the old ex car thieves are no good...  You need a modern thief with the tech to override the immobiliser...the AA/RAC should also have the tech to do it.

Also, assuming it's not keyless start, surely the key can't be that far from where you parked? 🤔

             Sorry but although i said it,s holiday accommodation we,re only here (officially) till tomorrow so that our dog can have specialist procedure done so not only does nobody else have a key to our house but recorded delivery would take too long,thanks anyway.

Toms Focus, as mentioned in post we,re 200 miles away!! and i wasn't aware they had keyless start in 2006!!

So how have you managed to drive 200 miles without the key?  The key must be near the car somewhere if you retrace your steps?

Really the only option you have will be calling a mobile locksmith/breakdown service to cut and programme a new key.  It won't be cheap though.

(PS - Keyless was an option on 2008 facelift, not sure about the pre-facelift. )

Hope your dog recovers successfully, that's enough stress without all the 'key' hassle!
