Focus mk2.5 2008. Sony radio turns off with the ignition?

Featured Replies

Hello and greetings from Denmark.

This is my first question in here. I have tried to google the problem

without success, nor can I find anything about the problem in here.

My sony radio tends to stay on when I take the key out of the ignition,

and then turn off when I open the door. It does not do that anymore,

now it turns off immediately when I turn the key to position 0.

Does anyone know anything about what controls this system.

Can the system be configured to work again to my satisfaction?

Canbus sends a signal to the radio and asks it to stay on and then

sends a new signal when the door opens which asks the radio to turn off.

I think this is roughly the way the system works, but I have no idea what

components this involves and where it may have gone wrong.

Thanks in advance, Thomas

I haven't checked this on our current cars but on our older ones I'm sure I found that if you turn the radio on after starting the engine it'll turn off when you turn the engine off and if you turn it on before starting the engine it'll stay on after you turn the engine off.
