squeaky80 Posted August 23, 2008 Share Posted August 23, 2008 Hi im New to motor maintainence i think i have i have a losse fan belt is this easy to fix ??? and how do i know its a fan belt or is it timing belt ?? i have just managed to replace a fuel tank(it took 3 days but i managed) on my 1.4 si fiesta 1994 so i am feeling confident but i would like some input if you can help .....thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mintalkin Posted August 23, 2008 Share Posted August 23, 2008 its not your timing belt or you would have serious problems, its most likeley a serpentine belt is it squeeling when you rev or pull away?, if it is first check the condition of the belt if it looks alright it most likley just wants tightening. but i carnt remember of the top of my head if there is an adjuster pully wheel or the adjustment is on the alternator. if the noise is a constant rumbling it could be alternator bearings or the water pump bearings.
