Engine mounts?

Featured Replies

I am still stuck with my Focus chaps! Covid, work, divorce - had to put getting a new car on the backburner.

I have noticed that whenever the car is stationary or sitting at traffic lights, the car shakes. If I use the handbrake, the shake is considerably reduced.
Googling suggests that it might be time for new engine mounts. The car has now done 103,00 miles.

How much are replacement engine mounts? I may definitely have to part company with the car as cost of repairs is fast approaching the value I paid for the car 4 years ago.

Anyone?

Surely divorce means you can now buy something cooler than a Focus, sporty little 2 seater maybe...

Do you have basic tools and a trolley jack yourself?  Engine mounts are literally a few bolts each once you've supported the engine.

I don't think it works that way if you are a man. The wife will be after my used cheap Focus soon!

Sorry, I don't have jack ( no pun intended )

How much do you reckon a garage would charge?

Should be able to do all 3 within an hour so around £50-£80 in labour.
