1.4 tdci won't start after injector seal replacement

Featured Replies

Hi there I'm wondering if there is some fellow fiesta boffins out there who can help. 1.4 tdci 2004 was running fine but needed injector No.3 seal replacing. After which the car refused to start as they do as soon as you do any form of tampering with the fuel system. So I did my usual of reset the ECU and tow it until she fires. However this one didn't want to go and the dash board was giving me funny signs. So I pulled out an OBD2 reader and sure enough there was a code for vcc or crank sensor so I replaced that and attempted to clear the code but no the ECU wouldn't clear the code and refused to communicate with the OBD2 reader. Throughout all of this the car still refused to start. Never seen anything like it! Anyone have any idea? It's not crank sensor. It's not ECU cos it ran fine for years. Camshaft sensor was replaced a while ago but it's ran fine on that.

Also even since before my ownership it has had an issue where it will swing over 4 times then stop randomly. But then on other occasions it will swing over until you stop it.

hi tom did you ever get to the bottom of your problem

i have the same problem changed injector seal. Towed no start  all codes p00112  p0098  fixed and erased

Help !!!!

after doing my seals on my 1.4tdci (2007) it was a right nightmare to start, all i can say is when you think it is primed enough do it again for another 10-15 mins have someone with you and take turns like a relay on it. took almost an hour of priming before i got mine to start and by then the battery had also drained so needed a trusty friend and some jump leads. after the initial start up it started fine every time as it normally did. but my advice would be prime it with the bubble then prime it some more and then do it again just because.

let us know how you get on 🙂
