PCM Update

Featured Replies

Hi I'm very new to car modding and i am looking for guides to update firmware on my pcm for my focus 1.6tdci 2010.

I have read that if you update the pcm firmware it will run a lot smoother and 1st gear will have a lot more power to pull out of junctions instead of the crawl I usually get.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks

I'm affraid there's not much you can do about it, I've had my car remapped already and still low power on 1st gear is virtually the same.

There are numerous people complaining about the same "problem" which indicates that's the expected performace, it seems to be related with the gearbox either due to the gear ratio used or some kind of torque limiter.

From my experience 1st gear is only useful for taking off, other than that engage 2nd gear and floor it if you're in a hurry 😅
