Tuning Box & Learned Values

Featured Replies

Just a thought.
move got one of those DTUK tubing boxes on my 2.0 163bhp tit x. If I used forscan or elmconfig to reset the learned values of the injectors or some other learned values to do with the rail and injectors. Then plug in the tubing box, drive about 500 miles, and technically it should learn the new values from the tuning box. Then I should be able to remove the tuning box and the learned values should stay set in the ECU.

Or is that not possible.

Just thinking, because those cheap OBD tuning chips just reset learned values every time you start the car or something like that.

The tuning box increases the fuel rail pressure.
So if I reset the learned values for then sensor in the fuel rail, connect the tuning box, drive a few hundred miles so it learns the new values with the box attached (higher rail pressure) then I should be able to remove the tuning box and it should be the same as having the tuning box on as it’s learned the values of the higher rail pressure, right?
