Hi Guys,

 

Im hoping to get an answer to a question i have been asking myself for a few weeks now. As of a few weeks ago, my external temp gauge on my mk7.5 fiesta randomly drops to low temperatures 0-4'C. Would this indicate an issue with the sensor? It usually works fine it just occasionally, maybe once or twice a weeks drops to the low temperature and after a few mins corrects itself.

Any insight is helpful!

    It sounds very much like a bad connection to the sensor. I expect it is corrosion in one of the plugs, but without a wiring diagram it will be hard to trace.

    I will have a look to find the sensor and see what condition it is in.

    Where is the outside temperature sensor located?  My daughters car just displays  -- where the reading should be so i dont know if it has a sensor connected.

    -- means the sensor (or sensor wiring) is open circuit.

     Your profile seems to be saying the car is a Fiesta Mk7 2022 model ???

    On many Fiesta's models the ambient temperature sensor is located inside the passenger side door mirror.
