Transmission Limited Function

Hi all.

I recently had a warning light and message come up on my 2014 S Max dashboard saying Transmission Limited Function. I took it to my local Ford garage, who could not find a fault before doing an overdue oil filter change etc. After a month now the lower gears have started jumping again and the warning light has come back on. Once I pull over and turn off the engine it goes away when starting up again. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this, is it safe to continue to drive, can it be fixed?
