2017 Fiesta gear change problem

Featured Replies

When changing up a gear my daughters 2017 Fiesta intermittently sticks in the lower gear & she can't move the gear stick. Pressing the clutch again then allows the gear change. Also sticks now and then changing from reverse to first but can only be reset by stalling the car & selecting first gear. Any ideas of the problem please. Thanks John

Just wondered if you found what the problem was?  My 2016 fiesta intermittently sticks in first and second (not fully stuck but you really have to wrestle it out) always when pulling out at high revs and only ever going up gears, is this anything like the same problem?

I'm the US - have a 2017 Ford Fiesta also displaying the same issues. From a stop, it will either not go into first gear, or after getting into first, won't go into second, nor back into first, which can prove very dangerous when making a left turn. If I turn the car off and restart it, the stick released. I've had it serviced once - was thought to be an issue with the clutch fluid (which shares the same reservoir as the brake fluid, apparently). They drained and flushed the system, and it seemed to help for a few weeks. But it started up again - like every fourth time I take it out. Yesterday the transmission light came on, so I took it right to the service station, but they couldn't get it to replicate the problem so they have no idea what to do. It's clearly a hazard. If anyone has information, I'd be grateful.
