mk 7 2010 fiesta keeps saying bonnet open

Ive cleaned the electrical connectors with wd40 taken the whole thing off and cleaned it up, but it still saying bonnet open when its closed...........any ideas people?

    Well I'd be about 95% certain that the switch is faulty and the other 5% would be the connector/wire has corroded.

    Pull the plug off the switch and short the connector pins together (use a paperclip). If it shows bonnet closed then the switch is faulty.

    It looks like you have a seperate sensor to detect the bonnet open. See the plug circled in the photo. Just unplug it and short the 2 wires in the connector together.

    Yes, if it showns closed when the connector wires are shorted then the switch is faulty

    It was the other switch on the left handside that needed shorting........yes showed closed so new bonnet catch required....cheers all.
