Help different blower motor resistors

Featured Replies

Hi

pretty sure I have a faulty blower motor resister - burning smell after prolonged use, lower fan speed settings working intermittently, so bought a new one for £10 worth giving it ago - or so I thought

below is the one I received today as a replacement and another is what I believe to be the actual exsisting blower motor resister that I’ve found this after noon after removing my glove box and now I can’t find a new one anywhere. Anyone know where I can get a new one of the brown 2 connector blower motor resisiter please

On a slight tangent, on my previous focus mk1 I had problems with the blower resistor but this turned out to be caused by water in the blower motor making the bearings stiff.  The resistor is in the ducting so blowed motor blows air over resistor to keep it cool, on mine the stiff motor meant it did not blow so much air and the stiff motor caused more power draw which heated the resistor even more so it was like a double whammy against the resistor

Thanks I will have a check of that now thanks, did you have to change the actual blower motor to fix that?
