Voice Activation Fault.

Any ideas on this one….

When I press the voice activation button on my 2013 Mondeo titanium X an error message appears on the screen stating ‘Data Read Error’. 
Everything else works fine, Bluetooth, Satnav, Phone connectivity etc.
I do believe I have a slight issue with the clockspring as I have an intermittent fault with my cruise control not powering on but I have not got round to getting the clockspring replaced yet as the cruise control is currently behaving itself!

I have also not replaced the satnav SD card but I do believe this potentially could be the cause of the voice control not working, as far as I can tell it is a genuine Ford card and not a copy. 
Dont really want to wedgy out for a new card from Ford and it not solve the problem!

So…… Could the issue with the voice control be potentially related to a possibly faulty clockspring or is it going to be worth my while getting a suitable replacement SD card and going along that route to attempt to resolve this issue?

I have tried fiddling with the settings on the head unit and resetting the language etc. but to no avail. 

 

if anyone thinks the SD card is going to be at fault I would also appreciate any link to a good reputable supply, I have looked on eBay of course but there are a whole host of them that I assume are aftermarket copies and not sure if they will contain everything I need it to contain or possibly cause more issues!!
