Ford again after 25 years!

Hello all, Thought I would just pop into introductions and say Hi.

It has been a long time since I have tinkered with a Ford but my early years were all Ford. T Reg Mk2 Escort 1.3L, B Reg Mk2 Fiesta 1.1 Ghia, F Reg Escort 1.6 Ghia and now a 2017 Fiesta ST200. The fiesta belongs to my wife but I have to admit to being the one who saw it and just had to have it, I had always wanted a Mk2 XR2 but it just never happened.

So now I get to re-live my youth a little with a fast Ford at last 🙂

Today was my first tinker with the new to us "pocket rocket" as the rear discs were not looking good at all, all 4 sliders on the calipers were jammed so that defo did not help but they are all good to go now. Mountune discs and pads are on there way to me now. Never had slash cut discs before so that is a first for me, I know the front discs will have to be changed too........well they have to match the rear do they not? That is what I told my wife and I'm sticking to it 😉 but before that I have to sort out the surface corrosion underneath the car as I hope the car will be with us for many many years to come.

Wire wheel, black Hammarite and wax oil are the next big jobs on the to do list along with more pre-emptive bolt/screw removal and greasing things up. This is some thing I just have to do as many moons ago my first job was restoring cars and snapped bolts were always a pain in the *****. I still have whitworth spanners tucked away somewhere,  well you never now they might come in handy some day.

Well I'm off to see if I can sus out the forum and find anything that will tell me about any possible rust traps/areas on the Mk7 Fiesta.

Take it easy, bye for now

Fazat

PS, sorry for no pics, I just do not have the know how for the tech stuff. Spanners and hammers all the way for me
