Save a Mk2 from scrap

Featured Replies

I have a Mk2 2.0 auto Ghia on my drive that has to go. It got parked up due to a transmission leak and was sweet at the time. Unfortunately I've never got round to sorting it and now I need the space. Bad points are the transmission leak, the front bumper (been bumped into while parked up and we all know about their accident resilience) and yesterday I couldn't find the key 😂.

The car's in Sheffield (the Yorkshire one) so if anyone can make use of the parts to keep others on the road let me know asap as I need the space - clearly it will need a trailer.

Well, I happen to. know mk2s are a bit thin on the ground as a mate who has one needed a driver's seat to pass the mot and had a dickens of a job to find one!

Which is why I would hate to see it crushed. Are there no mk1 or 2 owners on here that could make use?

In all honesty this isn't the right forum for a parts car sale, very few cars sell on here at all.  If you've had no luck on selling sites, I wonder if there are any Ford breakers that would take it?  Trouble with such an old far is that there's likely to be very low demand for the parts now so it needs to be a large breaker with plenty of storage space.

Try Talkford.com as that forum has a dedicated section for mk1 & 2 Mondeos, also it has a sales and wanted section. (classifieds)

You might hate to see it crushed, but parts WILL be salvaged at a breakers and so useful bits of it will 'live on' and of course the metal goes to be recycled.

Else ebay and gumtree are worth trying as they cover a large readership...
