Ford focus 1.0 ecoboost 2015 plate

Featured Replies

Hi wondering if anyone else has had this issue I was driving to work when my oil warning light flashed then stayed on and engine management light came on so I stopped and checked the oil gauge and the oil level was fine so icalled the RAC i then got the car towed to the garage who said it could be the oil pump and that they have heard of a few ecoboost engines that it has happend to and that the timing belt could be damaged also as there was a rattle from the engine I then phoned a good number of other garages who said the same even saying I could need a new engine some garages said they wouldn't even touch it so suggested I book in with ford to see what they say. My car has only done 49,500 miles

Sounds like you may have the same issues as this guy further down this page.....

Thanks mate 👍

@anon I'll leave this to you.

If you turned the engine off the second the oil light came on and you haven’t run the engine with the light on then the engine might be ok once the cause has been fixed.  If you have been running it then it might be scrap.  Bearings in car engines don’t have ball bearings in. They are metal on metal with oil under pressure forced in between the two metal surfaces to stop them wearing away. Every second an engine is run without adequate oil pressure is causing permanent damage.
