Keyless entry not working

Featured Replies

Hi!

My Ford Focus MK4 spent the previous 3 weeks in service due to the error message “emergency call function disabled service required”. Now I got back my car and the message is no longer displayed, but the keyless entry is not working. I have checked in the vehicle setting and the KeyFree config was set to on. For a test I have disabled this setting then turned it back in. Unfortunately the same has happened, keyless entry is not working. Do you have any recommendations to deal with this?
If not then I must call the service tomorrow again. Hopefully they don’t need an other month to resolve this error too. 😕

Low battery probably. Did the dealer recharge the battery? The error can cause the battery to discharge as the telematics module can crash and not turn off properly when you get that message.

Agreed, run the car for a few days and it will start working again

I've had the same problem with my Focus Mk4. Just put the battery on charge for 24 hours and it will sort itself out.

Called the dealer. They told me that the APIM module and the roof antennas were changed. I have hooked up the battery to the charger. It was on 12.1V now juiced up to 13v but the keys are still not working. Also ran a FORScan test on BdyCM and got two messages: C1D00:11 - park brake apply switch

B10C8:01 - interior centre Antenna

Because of this second message I suspect that charging the battery will not resolve the problem 😕

You need to take it back to the dealer

Hi, 13.0V is actually still low. Once the keyless entry system shuts down (to save the battery power) you need to get the battery voltage back up to at least 13.2V (fully charged is 13.6V) and then cycle the ignition (take the car for a five minute drive) park up and lock the doors.
